Enjoying life!

The weather has being amazing! I am trying to make the must of every ray of sun.
We went kayaking during the week on a nearby lough. The scenery was so beautiful that I had to remind myself that I was in Ireland. We went out far onto the lough and went diving, swimming and snorkelling. The water was so clear that I could follow schools of fish as they swim.

This made me reflect how beautiful the world is if we have the time to embrace it. For me I know the hardest thing is to plan or allocate days like this!
It made me wonder; why don't I do this more often? Why can't I take the time to plan days like this more often?

What holds we back is guilt and getting caught up with my busy life.
The sad part is that I can easily choose these days with a bit of planning but have instead chosen not to enjoy them.
Maybe I was in a rut? Not anymore;-)

  1. I agree with you, it pays to stop and look at what we have on our doorsteps. Makes one realise how truly lucky one is.
Glad you took time out. It sounds like it was a lovely day.

    1. It makes me realise that I can choose to see and feel blessed or not. Why have I been choosing not?

  2. Yes, it's too easy to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle of a busy life without thinking about a bit of quality time to spend in your own area.

    1. That is so true. There are wonderful scenic areas around here that I have never been, but every year the area is flooded with Dutch and Germans taking the time to enjoy the hillwalking, fishing etc. Which is a shame!

  3. I agree with you entirely, in fact it's something we have just realised.

Since the move we were slogging ourselves silly working our little socks off every weekend with no time to just sit and be, until evenings that is when we flopped in complete tiredness in front of the tele and usually fell asleep.

Well no more we have decided to sometimes just 'down tools' and clean ourselves up and go off out, even if it is just to walk the dogs along the prom in Llandudno, share a bag of chips and have an icecream.

I think we've all earnt time to ourselves and you are so right to take time out.

Forget guilt, we work hard ...... we should play sometimes too!

    1. Oh my God Sue! Your life sounds like ours :-)
I have named it the 'Martyr Syndrome'.I haven't found that we get more or less done by taking the odd half day here and there, sure isn't that the reason we live like this, so as to be able to enjoy life
